Search, edit and delete assets

This article explains how to search for an asset, edit its details, and delete assets within the BriqSafe application. It is intended for users involved in asset management such as Engineers and Inspectors.

Note

Required role: Engineer for searching and editing assets; Inspector or above for deleting assets

Searching for Assets

Structures screen in the Residencial Serrano location allows managing building structures, with key actions including adding a new structure and editing or viewing details of existing ones via a dropdown menu.

Use the list view to find and manage assets efficiently across a location.

  1. From the location, open the Structures panel.
  2. Switch to the Assets tab to view assets in a table format.
  3. Narrow the list using the Search box or the Structure and Type filters.
  4. Sort assets by clicking any column header such as Name, Number, or Status.
  5. Select multiple assets for bulk actions like Duplicate or Move.
  6. Use the inline Duplicate action on a row to copy an asset with a "(copy)" suffix added to its name.

Editing an Asset

Edit an asset’s details and compliance parameters throughout its lifecycle as equipment and readings change.

  1. Open the desired asset to view its detail panel.
  2. Modify fields such as Name, Serial Number, Manufacturer, Model, Code, or Description.
  3. Update values in the Parameters section as needed.
  4. If reassigning a QR code, enter the new code or scan it in the QR Code field; this replaces the previous code.
  5. Save your changes to trigger a recalculation of compliance and technical recommendations.

Note that all edits are recorded in the audit log with user details, timestamps, and changed fields. Manual satisfaction overrides remain active unless removed by a user.

Deleting an Asset

Note

Required role: Inspector or above to delete assets

Delete assets that are no longer in service or to correct incorrect records. Deletion is soft, preserving audit trails and linked data.

  1. Select the asset you want to delete.
  2. Choose the Delete action and confirm the deletion.

When deleted, the asset is hidden from active views, and the deletion cascades to linked systems, IoT devices, control schema entries, and flags open jobs as archived-asset.

You can restore a deleted asset using the undo toast immediately after deletion or through an audit or admin restore later. Note that restoring via draft-workflow re-links systems, assets, and devices; a plain undo may not fully restore those links.
