Edit risk conclusion narratives

This article explains how to write and edit the risk conclusion narratives that summarise the overall findings of a risk assessment in BriqSafe. It is intended for inspectors who finalize assessments by documenting the professional conclusions and summaries that appear in the report.

Note

Required role: Inspector (assessment-edit access required to edit narratives and summaries)

Accessing the Risk Conclusion Stage

To write or edit the risk conclusion, you must complete all other data-collection and review stages of the assessment first. The Risk Conclusion stage remains locked until those are marked done.

  1. Open the risk assessment you want to conclude.
  2. Navigate to the Risk Conclusion stage. It unlocks only after all preceding stages are finished.

Understanding the Risk Conclusion Screen

This screen combines the overall risk overview and narrative fields needed for the final report.

  • On the right, a semicircular Risk gauge displays the overall risk level, ranging from Very low to Very high. If it reads Unassessed, it means required data is still missing.
  • On the left, each risk group has an expandable section showing its numeric Score (1–5) and any regime-specific questions.
  • Use the gauge and scores together to verify if the computed risk aligns with your professional judgment.
  • Note that read-only users can view but not change these risk levels or scores.

Writing the General Conclusion Narrative

Your professional narrative summarises the overall assessment result.

  1. Expand the General conclusion section.
  2. Enter your overall conclusion text into the Description field.
  3. The entry auto-saves as you type.

Completing Risk Group Sections

You must also document the individual risk groups.

  1. Expand each risk group section on the left.
  2. Fill in the Score field with the appropriate numeric value (1 to 5).
  3. Complete any additional narrative fields within each group to describe their findings.

Adding Executive and Risk Summaries

These summaries help communicate the risk status concisely in the report.

  1. On the right side, locate the Executive Summary and Risk Summary fields.
  2. Type your own text directly into these fields, or use the Generate button to draft summaries automatically.
  3. Review the generated draft carefully. Remember, generated summaries are only drafts and must be edited before saving.
  4. After reviewing or typing your text, select Save to store the summaries.

If data used to generate summaries changes later, the system flags existing summaries as Obsolete. You should then regenerate and update those summaries.

Important Considerations

  • Only users with assessment-edit access can edit narratives and summaries. Others can view them but cannot make changes.
  • The Risk Conclusion stage can only be accessed after all preceding stages are marked done. You cannot write conclusions prematurely.
  • The narrative and summary you write represent the professional conclusion and should not be replaced or neglected in favor of generated drafts.
