Edit asset parameters and view history

This article explains how to update the compliance parameters of an asset and view its full activity history. It is intended for engineers managing assets in the BriqSafe application.

Note

Required role: Engineer

Edit Asset Parameters

Use the asset Parameters section to record and update an asset's measured compliance values.

  1. Open the asset's detail panel.
  2. Navigate to the Parameters section to access the dynamic form, which adjusts to the asset type.
  3. Enter or update values in the parameter rows. Each row displays the value and a badge indicating whether it is satisfactory or unsatisfactory.
  4. Satisfactory states are calculated by the rule engine, which derives the overall asset satisfaction from all parameters.
  5. If any parameter is out of the allowed range, it triggers an unsatisfactory state and may auto-generate linked technical recommendations based on matched risk rules.
  6. Save your changes to update the asset parameters.

Note that changing the asset type after entering parameters can invalidate the data because the parameters required depend on the asset type. Also, an asset must be linked to a system to generate related activities; parameters alone are insufficient for activity creation.

Audit Trail and Overriding Satisfaction

Each change to asset parameters is recorded in the audit log with details of the user, timestamp, and fields modified. This ensures a traceable history of edits.

If a manual satisfaction override has been applied, it remains active even after parameter updates until explicitly removed by a user.

Assign or Change an Asset's QR Code

Locations screen showing asset details for a washbasin tap (mixer) including image upload, asset number, QR code entry, and network position settings.

To link a physical QR label to an asset for quick lookup by scanning:

  1. Open the asset's detail panel.
  2. Enter the QR value into the QR Code field or use a scan to populate it.
  3. Save the asset to commit the QR Code assignment.

Assigning a new QR code replaces the previous one. Codes must be unique among active assets at the same location; attempting to reuse an existing code will be rejected.

View an Asset's Full Activity History

The Activity History displays a complete, read-only record of lifecycle events for an asset.

  1. Open the asset's detail panel and go to the Information view.
  2. Locate the Activity History section, which lists events from newest to oldest.
  3. Apply filters by event action or date range as needed.
  4. Open any event to view details including the user who performed the action (Performed by), Affected Items, and any Additional Details.

This event feed records changes such as asset creation, updates, system links, and related events. It is strictly a system-generated audit trail and not editable notes. Asset events here also roll up into Location Timelines.
