Collect compliance data at asset level

This article explains how inspectors collect and confirm compliance data at the asset level during a risk assessment. It covers adding photos, entering identifying details such as Asset Number, QR Code, and Network Position, completing compliance parameters, and confirming the assessment.

Note

Required role: Inspector

Open an Asset and Add Photos and Identifying Details

Complete the asset's core data to document its identity and network position.

  1. From Things to do , open the Assets tile and select the desired asset under its area.
  2. In the General section, upload or capture one or more photos using your device camera or file upload. Thumbnails appear when photos are added.
  3. Enter the required Asset Number manually. This field must be filled to save.
  4. Optionally enter the QR Code value by typing it or scanning a physical label. This associates the asset with that QR code for lookup.
  5. Select the Network Position from the options: Near source , Mid network , or Far from source .
  6. Review the read-only Location path to confirm where the asset is situated.
  7. Save your changes to store the updated asset details.

Complete Compliance Parameters

Record the asset's compliance readings which are used to evaluate its satisfactory or unsatisfactory state.

  1. Expand the Parameters section of the asset detail panel.
  2. Enter or update compliance values according to the asset type. Parameters vary by asset type and include readings such as temperature or sample values.
  3. Values can be entered manually or imported via connected sensors if available.
  4. Each parameter row will display its entered value along with a badge indicating satisfactory or unsatisfactory.
  5. Save your parameter inputs to trigger the automatic evaluation and update the asset's overall satisfaction state.

Review and Confirm the Asset Assessment

Set the asset's satisfactory or unsatisfactory state and save the assessment.

  1. After entering parameters and saving, the Assessment section's toggle becomes enabled.
  2. Set the asset state to Satisfactory or Unsatisfactory . This may either reflect the automatically calculated state or be manually overridden if required.
  3. Choose Confirm assessment to save the state and complete the assessment step.

Additional Asset Information (Optional)

You can optionally manage relationships and linked data for the asset.

  • Linked Systems: Link the asset to one or more systems that it serves within the same location.
  • Sensors: Associate IoT sensors with the asset so their data attaches to its record.
  • Linked Assets: Model physical relationships by linking the asset to other assets at the same location, up to two links per asset.
  • Cases: Manage related cases if applicable.

Notes and Common Pitfalls

  • The Assessment toggle remains disabled until compliance parameters have been saved at least once.
  • Assigning or editing the Asset Number , QR Code , or Network Position requires asset-edit permission.
  • Confirming the assessment state via Confirm assessment requires assessment-edit permission.
  • A QR Code must be unique among active assets at the same location; duplicate codes are rejected.
  • Saving parameter values that cross regime thresholds raises draft technical recommendations automatically. These appear in the Technical Recommendations tab and require later approval to become active work.
  • The asset form on the consultant web app collects only Asset Number, QR Code, and Network Position; it does not include fields like manufacturer, model, or installation date.
