Turn off email notifications

This article explains how to disable email notifications in BriqSafe, allowing you to control which alerts you receive by email. It is intended for all users who want to manage their notification preferences and reduce unwanted emails.

Turning Off Email Notifications for Individual Topics

To control which notifications you receive by email for specific event topics, follow these steps:

  1. Open Account Settings from the sidebar to go to the My Settings page.
  2. Select the Notifications tab.
  3. Notifications are grouped into collapsible sections. Each topic lists the communication channels it supports as three columns: Email, Push, and Inbox.
  4. Find the topic you want to stop receiving email notifications for, and toggle off the switch in the Email column.
  5. Alternatively, use a section’s master toggle in the Email column to turn off email notifications for all topics in that section.
  6. Click Save to apply your changes.

Note that some topics are marked as (Required) and cannot be disabled. Also, only topics that support email delivery show an Email column. Your changes apply only to your own account.

Disabling Daily and Weekly Summary Emails

To stop receiving scheduled summary emails about work related to your Locations, use these steps:

  1. In My Settings, open the Notifications tab.
  2. Open the Summaries section.
  3. Locate the Daily summary and Weekly summary entries, each with an Email switch only.
  4. Toggle off the Email switch for the summaries you no longer wish to receive.
  5. Click Save to confirm your preferences.

Keep in mind that summaries are delivered only by email on a fixed server schedule. There is no option to change the delivery time, frequency, or the Locations included in the summaries. The Weekly summary toggle exists but currently does not trigger weekly emails because this feature is inactive on the server.

Understanding Why Notifications Remain in the In-App Inbox

Even after disabling email notifications, you may still see related items in your in-app inbox. This happens because each notification topic uses a fixed set of delivery channels:

  • Some notifications (for example, Visit assigned and Visit reminders) send copies via email, push, and inbox.
  • Others (for example, Visit completed, Risk assessment completed) send only email and inbox.
  • Some are inbox-only (for example, Technical recommendations created, Manual override) and do not generate email or push alerts.

The Email toggle suppresses email delivery, but in-app inbox items have their own toggle. Turning off email notifications does not remove inbox items. Inbox-only notifications never produce email or push messages, regardless of your settings.
