Set up multi-factor authentication

This article explains how to enable and configure multi-factor authentication (MFA) to secure your BriqSafe account. It is intended for all users who want to add an extra layer of protection to their sign-in process.

Accessing the Security Settings

To manage your password and set up multi-factor authentication, you need to access your personal security settings.

  1. Open Account Settings.
  2. Go to My Settings.
  3. Select the Security tab.

The Security tab contains an embedded hosted sign-in security widget provided by BriqSafe's identity provider. This widget is where you will change your password and manage multi-factor authentication.

Enabling and Configuring Multi-Factor Authentication

You can enrol or manage multi-factor authentication for your account using the embedded security panel.

  1. Within the Security tab, locate the multi-factor authentication section on the hosted sign-in security widget.
  2. Follow the instructions to enrol in multi-factor authentication, typically by setting up a Time-Based One-Time Password (TOTP) authenticator app.

Multi-factor authentication is a self-service option. It is configured per user, and BriqSafe does not enforce it organisation-wide. The available additional authentication methods depend on the configuration of the hosted widget.

If the embedded security panel does not load, use the inline retry option that appears to attempt reloading it.

Managing Your Password Alongside Multi-Factor Authentication

The same embedded hosted sign-in security widget lets you change your password when needed, such as during a security review or when resetting your password.

  1. In the Security tab, use the options within the widget to change your password.
  2. Follow the prompts to enter a new password that meets the shown requirements.

This helps keep your account secure alongside multi-factor authentication.
