This article explains how to configure your email notification preferences in BriqSafe, including how to enable or disable daily and weekly email summaries. It is intended for all users who want to control which notifications they receive and how they are delivered.
Configuring Your Email Notification Preferences
You can select which notification topics you want to receive and choose whether they arrive by email, push notification, or in the in-app inbox.
- Open Account Settings from the sidebar to go to your My Settings page.
- Click the Notifications tab.
- Notification topics are grouped into collapsible sections. Each topic has up to three columns for channels: Email, Push, and Inbox.
- Toggle the switch for each channel next to a topic to enable or disable that channel. Use a section’s master toggle to enable or disable a whole section for a particular channel at once.
- Click Save to apply your changes. A confirmation message, “Your notification preferences have been updated.” will appear.
Note that not all topics have the same channel options. The available topics and channels come from the server and can vary depending on your organisation’s settings. Some required topics are locked on and cannot be disabled. Changes only affect your own account.
Setting Up Daily or Weekly Email Summaries
Summary emails provide a scheduled overview of your Locations’ work via email.
- In the Notifications tab of My Settings, find and open the Summaries section.
- You will see toggles for Daily summary and Weekly summary. These toggles control email delivery only; summaries are never sent as push notifications or inbox cards.
- Turn a toggle off to stop receiving that summary email.
- Note that summaries are generated on a fixed server schedule, and there is no option to pick delivery times or select specific Locations in the web app.
- The Weekly summary toggle is currently inactive—turning it on does not deliver emails because the backend does not produce weekly summaries at this time.
The Summaries section appears only if your organisation’s server returns those summary topics.
Understanding Why Notifications May Still Appear in Your Inbox
Some notification events always appear in the in-app inbox even if you disable email or push for those topics.
Each event uses a predefined set of channels:
- Some events deliver copies via inbox, push, and email.
- Others deliver only email plus inbox.
- A few events are inbox-only and never send email or push notifications.
Your toggles for Email and Push suppress only those channels and do not remove items from the inbox. The inbox channel has its own toggle per topic. Required topics cannot be disabled.
Additional Information
Notifications are localized to each recipient’s preferred language as set in their profile. Supported languages include English, Dutch, German, Italian, French, and Spanish. Dynamic content like names and locations remains in the stored language and is not translated.
Also, you generally do not receive notifications triggered by your own actions. The system filters out the acting user before sending notifications for role-based events to avoid notifying you about your own changes.
