Temperature measurement results

This article explains how to view and interpret temperature measurement results when performing temperature measurement jobs using the BriqSafe application. It is intended for engineers working on-site who need to record, complete, and review temperature readings.

Note

Required role: Engineer

Performing a Temperature Measurement Job

Take Measurement - Hot Tap screen allows users to input detailed hot water temperature data and comments for multiple pending measurement tasks, with an option to complete the job.

Follow these steps to record water temperature readings using a Bluetooth thermometer or manual entry during a flushing job.

  1. Open the temperature job in the app.
  2. Tap Connect Thermometer to pair a Bluetooth thermometer, or tap Fill Temperature Manually to enter readings by hand.
  3. If using a thermometer, tap Start Measurement and run the water outlet. The live temperature reading will stream and stop automatically once it stabilises.
  4. Repeat the measurement for each required outlet or reading.
  5. If the activity requires it, attach an evidence photo to document the measurement.
  6. Tap Complete Job to save the readings and finish the job.

Note: The form does not display a pass or fail status during measurement. Even if a temperature reading breaches the defined control scheme thresholds, you can still complete the job. Threshold breaches are assessed server-side after job completion and may raise a case for review.

If the thermometer loses connection during measurement, readings already taken are saved. You can reconnect the thermometer or switch to manual entry to continue.

If no stop conditions are defined for the activity type, the app uses default measurement settings, applying either a 2-minute timeout or manual reading entry.

Understanding Job Execution and Completion

Learn how the job screen works and what to expect after completing a temperature job.

  1. Open the job to see two tabs: Info, showing location details, structure, area, floor, and notes; and Actions, where you enter your measurement data.
  2. The form that appears on the Actions tab is fixed by the job’s activity type. You cannot change the form.
  3. After entering data and any required photos, tap Complete Job.
  4. Completing a job with a breaching (out-of-range) reading does not block completion. Breaches are evaluated on the server side.
  5. When a breach warrants escalation, the app confirms with a message: "Job completed. A case was created for review."
  6. If you finish the job offline, the breach confirmation and any resulting case will appear only after the app syncs with the server.

Reviewing Temperature Measurement Results

Temperature readings can be reviewed after jobs and visits are completed.

  1. Open the Location’s Jobs or Visits tab and select the completed job or visit to review.
  2. Inspect the recorded readings, any notes, and attached evidence photos.

Important: There are no pass/fail badges or trend charts displayed inline in the review screens. The compliance verdict based on temperature and other readings is only shown in the generated reports.

A SKIPPED job is marked as 'Not completed' with the skip reason provided, but it cannot be changed to COMPLETED after the fact.

Additional Operational Details

  • If a sensor is mapped to an asset, its readings can automatically fill and complete scheduled jobs without manual entry. Sensor-sourced readings include value, unit, and timestamp as provenance.
  • Sensor-completed jobs appear similar to manually completed jobs; the only difference is the source shown for the readings.
  • During offline work, you can still open visits and record measurements. Changes are queued and synced automatically when connectivity returns, including photos and status updates.

After Completing Jobs and Visits

When you finish or skip all jobs in a visit, use the Close Visit function.

  1. Tap Close Visit to open the Close Visit screen.
  2. On the Sign Off tab, review the JOB SUMMARY showing counts of completed and skipped jobs.
  3. Either draw a worker signature or tick the confirmation checkbox "I confirm that all jobs have been completed or skipped with valid reasons, and the information provided is accurate."
  4. Tap Close Visit then confirm by tapping Sign off.

Any jobs left pending when you sign off are automatically marked as skipped with an automatic reason and recorded for back-office review.

Correcting Temperature Measurement Data

Back-office users with edit rights can amend job data after the field visit if required.

  1. Open the job from the Location’s Jobs or Visits tab.
  2. Edit fields, notes, or photos as needed.
  3. Save the changes. Corrections are recorded in the Location Logbook and Timeline.

Note: Editing requires update permission. A SKIPPED job cannot be retroactively changed to COMPLETED; a new job must be scheduled instead.
