This article explains how laboratories function within BriqSafe, guiding engineers on recording and managing laboratory sample results. It covers entering returned values, managing certificates, creating follow-up cases, and generating reports.

Receiving and Entering Laboratory Results
After a sampling Job is completed and the sample is sent to an external laboratory, the returned analytical values must be entered into BriqSafe for compliance evaluation.
- When a sampling Job is completed, the system creates a follow-up lab-results entry Job at the same Location and scope. This Job is assigned to the Location's managers and has a due date about two months after the sampling.
- Open Actions and find the Lab results pending card.
- Choose Enter results on the pending lab-results entry Job to open it.
- On the Actions tab, enter the measured value for each parameter defined by the Activity.
- Optionally, add Notes.
- Enter every required parameter before completing, as completing the Job triggers the compliance evaluation.
- Select Complete Job to finish the entry.
Note: This workflow runs only in the web app. The mobile app's Actions section has a Lab results card that is a placeholder and does not open an entry form.
Storing Laboratory Certificates
There is no dedicated field to upload the laboratory's certificate on the lab-results entry Job.
- Upload the certificate PDF into the Documents library to preserve the original certificate alongside the lab result.
- Generate the lab-results report PDF for the entry (see below) to create a linked audit artifact for the lab outcome.
Lab data entry is manual; values must be keyed in by hand. There is no automatic ingestion of laboratory data or pass/fail interpretation flags within BriqSafe.
Handling Non-Compliant Lab Results

If any entered lab value exceeds its threshold, manual action is required to initiate remediation.
- Compare entered lab values against the regime's thresholds and review previous lab results on the Location Timeline.
- If a value is over the threshold, raise a Case on the affected Asset via the Location's Cases tab.
- Add corrective and retest work as scheduled Jobs linked to the Case.
Raising a Case is manual. Failing values do not automatically create Cases or send notifications. Follow-up work is scheduled as ordinary Jobs, not as sub-items inside the Case, and there is no separate 'cease' record for remediation.
Generating Lab Results Reports
After completing the lab-results entry Job, you can produce a shareable, auditable PDF report that pairs the entered results with the original sampling Job.
- Open the completed lab-results entry Job.
- Scroll to the lab-results report section at the bottom of the Actions tab.
- Start the report generation and wait while it processes.
- Choose Download once processing completes.
- The completed PDF is also automatically saved to the Documents library.
Note: The report section appears only after the entry Job is completed. Generating a report requires report-creation rights; users with view-only roles can only download existing reports.
Accessing Existing Lab Results Reports
If you do not have rights to generate a new report but need the PDF:
- Open the completed lab-results entry Job or locate the saved PDF in the Documents library.
- Choose Download to obtain a copy.
If a report has not yet been generated, request a user with report-creation rights to produce it first.
Understanding System Navigation for Laboratory Results
The Labs menu item is an experimental placeholder screen unrelated to lab result entry or review.
- Do not look for sample results or entry forms under Labs.
- Always track and enter laboratory results via the Actions page.
