This article explains how to archive and unarchive an organisation in BriqSafe. It is intended for users with the Owner role who need to make an organisation read-only or restore it for active use.
NoteRequired role: Owner
Archiving an Organisation
Archiving an organisation makes it read-only and marks it as scheduled for deletion. This is useful when an organisation is no longer active or you need to offboard a customer.
- Open the organisation's overview page.
- Choose the Archive button.
- Confirm the action in the dialog.
Once archived:
- The organisation becomes read-only for all members; no changes or edits can be made.
- Memberships and roles remain intact.
- A banner indicates the organisation is scheduled for deletion.
Important: An archived organisation should not be left that way indefinitely if you want to keep its data, as it is scheduled for deletion.
Note: Only users with the organisation-archive permission can archive an organisation, which typically means Owners or super-admins. Admin users may see the Archive button enabled but the action can fail server-side if permission is insufficient.
Unarchiving an Organisation
Unarchiving restores an archived organisation to active use, making it editable and usable again.
- Open the archived organisation.
- Click the Unarchive button.
- Confirm the action in the dialog.
After unarchiving:
- The organisation immediately becomes active and writable again.
- Existing memberships and roles are restored without any reassignment needed.
Note: Unlike archiving, unarchive is allowed for both Owner and Admin roles.
