Archive an organisation

This article explains how to archive and unarchive an organisation in BriqSafe. It is intended for users with the Owner role who need to make an organisation read-only or restore it for active use.

Note

Required role: Owner

Archiving an Organisation

Archiving an organisation makes it read-only and marks it as scheduled for deletion. This is useful when an organisation is no longer active or you need to offboard a customer.

  1. Open the organisation's overview page.
  2. Choose the Archive button.
  3. Confirm the action in the dialog.

Once archived:

  • The organisation becomes read-only for all members; no changes or edits can be made.
  • Memberships and roles remain intact.
  • A banner indicates the organisation is scheduled for deletion.

Important: An archived organisation should not be left that way indefinitely if you want to keep its data, as it is scheduled for deletion.

Note: Only users with the organisation-archive permission can archive an organisation, which typically means Owners or super-admins. Admin users may see the Archive button enabled but the action can fail server-side if permission is insufficient.

Unarchiving an Organisation

Unarchiving restores an archived organisation to active use, making it editable and usable again.

  1. Open the archived organisation.
  2. Click the Unarchive button.
  3. Confirm the action in the dialog.

After unarchiving:

  • The organisation immediately becomes active and writable again.
  • Existing memberships and roles are restored without any reassignment needed.

Note: Unlike archiving, unarchive is allowed for both Owner and Admin roles.
